Our S.B. Patil College of Architecture & Design conducted a Webinar for 2nd A, 2nd B students, young architects, professionals and students from all fields on 28th October, 2020.

84 nos. Students from 2nd A, 2nd B and 15 Faculties participated in zoom meeting, total 99 participants. Over 1900 views on facebook till date for the webinar participated on 28th October, 2020. Flyer for Webinar was designed by Ar. Surendra Parate.

Zoom meeting was hosted by SBPCOAD and Facebook Live streaming was there and whole event was co-ordinated and conducted by SBPCOAD’s enthusiastic Branding Team Prof. Harshada Vazarkar , Asst. Prof .Akshata Behere , Asst. Prof Chaitanya Bagul . All program was planned, narrated and verified under valuable guidance of Hon’ble Principal Dr. Mahendra Sonawane, Dr. Ketan Desale Digital Marketing Head & Asst. Professor guided in Face book Live Streaming.

AR. RAVI GADRE:BRIEF BIODATA (Written by himself)

Ravi Gadre is an award‐ winning architect, with a G.D. Arch degree in 1977 from Abhinav Kala Vidyalaya College of Architecture Pune by receiving in final year, a special medal for “Throughout Excellence in Design”. After working briefly with local Architect Shashikant Chavan, he started practice in 1979.

For the last 40 years, he has designed and executed projects ranging from houses to temples, factories to hospitals, hotels, and resorts to educational buildings. An amateur caricature and cartoonist, he is a recipient of number of Architectural Awards like JK, JIIA, AESA, AICA, at national and international level.

He has won many awards. To name a few:

  • Received special medal for ‘Throughout excellence in Design’ for consecutive 5 years in final year Architecture.
  • Won Commendation prize for National Ameture Cartoonist Competition in 1995 held by ‘The Hindustan Times’ New Delhi.
  • Received “Aesa Kumar Award 1998” for “Apoorva Apartments” as ‘Best housing complex of the year’.
  • Work at Wai, “Shaha House” was selected and displayed at New Delhi, in the Retrospective Exhibition of 50 years of Indian Architecture and Planning in 1999.
  • Received “12th JIIA –Anchor Award 2000” for ‘Gadre House’ at Pune by Indian Institute of Architects, at Mumbai.
  • Received “J.K.Cement – Architect of the Year 1999” commendation award for ‘GADRE HOUSE’ at Pune at the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, in Hydrabad on 24th March 2001 (National Level Award).
  • Received ‘AESA AWARD 2001 Juries Recommendation Award for ‘Gadre House’ Pune as “Best Architectural Design” on 3rd March 2001, from The Architects, Engineers, Surveyors Association, pune.
  • Received “Gold Award” 1st prize from The Indian Express Pune ‘Amience Anniversary Award 2001” in residential category for ‘Gadre House’ at Pune on 15th Sept. 2001.
  • Received “J.K.Cement -Architect of the Year 2002” commendation award for ‘Mujumdar House’ at Wai on 28th Feb. 2004, at the hands of Hon’ble Vice-President of India Mr. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi (National Level Award).
  • Received AESA 2010 Best Design Award 2010, for CMYK Press at MIDC. Jalgaon.
  • Received ‘Outstanding Contribution to Architecture Award’ from Durian Industries and Society Interiors Magazine, Mumbai on 19th Feb. 2012.
  • Received ‘ Artist in Concrete Award Asia 2012 ‘ for CMYK Press at MIDC Jalgaon, for space planning and functionality from H & R Johnson, on 18TH march 2013
  • Received ‘Artist in Concrete Award ASIA 2012’ for CMYK Press at MIDC Jalgaon, for innovativeness from H & R Johnson, on 18th March 2013.
  • Received ‘Artist in Concrete Award ASIA 2012’ for Rutu Farm Agritourism Holiday Homes at Wai for Architectural Design from H & R JOHNSON, ON 18th March 2013.
  • Received ‘Excellence in Architecture and Education Award’ from IIA Maharashtra Chapter, on 25th Oct 2013 at the hands of Actor Milind Gunaji at Aurangabad Maha Convention.
  • Received ‘Indira Engineering and Architecture Excellence Award 2017’ from Indira Group of Institutes Pune, at the hands of Lt. Gen. A.K.Singh (Retd.) Lt. Gov. Andaman Nicobar and Pondecherry on 18th Jan 2017.

  1. To explain the campus planning principles and different design approaches of institute design with examples.
  2. Students should understand the spaces required for Architectural college design and articulation of interactive spaces.


Ar.Sanjay Mohe has started his presentation with coats “Learning through nature and Learning with each other”. Sir has explained the design approach with courtyard planning, Indian context with examples and hand sketches. Their firm has done extensive study of Day light. He explained overall process with live examples of their projects to explain how we can achieve dynamism in spaces by light &shadows.

In all their projects they have Design with nature, used passive strategies to make buildings energy efficient and tried to achieve sustainability by rain water harvesting etc. Sir has done detailed presentation of CARE institute and Vellore institute of technology from concept to overall process and completed images.

The webinar was grand success as almost 800 participants have attended the event and received 1300 reviews on Face book all over India.
